Oh Atlanta...
After a miserable Twins series where my Sox were swept, we're moving on for the second installment of Interleague Play. To Atlanta, we go! I despise the Braves and Braves fans, so I'm hoping for a series sweep to make up for how pathetic we played in the Metrodome. Plus Josh really aggravates me with his anti-Boston fan stuff so beating the Braves would be extra sweet.
I am leaving for Italy early tomorrow morning, so you definitely won't see any updates until I get back. Actually being in the same time zone as the World Cup will be a welcome change. Although following this year's Cup hasn't been as tortorous as 2002 (4 a.m. stars anyone?!), I still don't enjoy the morning games. I had to wake up at 8 a.m. to watch my beloved Spaniards kick the crap out of Ukraine, 4-0. That was the biggest blowout of the cup thus far until Argentina ripped Serbia & Montenegro a new one this morning (6-0). I think the Argentines have to be the new favorites in this tournament, especially considering the fact that I wasn't impressed with Brazil at all in their opening game. Germany, the hosts, looked dead against Poland until they scored the winning goal in Injury Time. I fully expect the Americans to lose tomorrow versus Italy. I kind of hope they do, just because if the USA managed to win, I'd have to deal with a lot of pissed off Italians when I land in Milan on Sunday.
I'll update when I get back from my little hop across the pond.
